Kiitos Suomi- Thank you Finland in Maunula Talo 5.12.2024
One of the earliest authors who wrote about the experiences of foreigners in Finland, Mehri, penned an article on the significance of gratitude in 2021. This year, we are collaborating with immigrant associations to present the Kiitos Suomi event, focusing on the power of gratitude. The founder and leading the organization of this event is Josephine Atanga from Woddess Ry, an abbreviation for Women Designed for Success.
"The event is about working together towards a more inclusive and receptive society and our way of thanking those who have supported immigrant communities and helped build stronger ties to Finnish society", describes Josephine Atanga.
Join us for an uplifting event at Maunula Talo on Friday, December 5, from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Dress elegantly and savor an evening filled with cultural performances, music, delicious food, and expressions of appreciation. Feel free to participate, but please make sure to pre-register as spots are limited.
The event is partnered with key organizations such as AFAES (Afrikkalaisten ja Afrikan-Eurooppalaisten Yhdistys), Suomi-Intia-Seura, and the City of Helsinki and numerous of associations as volunteers of the event.
1st, I'm volunteering because I've been an event manager and i know how it consumes someone so I'm trying to ease planning by offering myself. Secondly and very important, I believe if I want to thrive I need to meet people and learn more from them. I'm a film producer, production manager, fashionista and an actress craving to meet people and learn more on how to better my industry here and basically learn more from different industries. #wererisebyliftingeachother - a private volunteer
Finland have many events and associations that helps the Finnish community. Through volunteering, we are able to network, connect and find interesting subjects for future collaboration. Volunteering also leads to work projects, which is why it is essential for the international community.
